Archeology Awareness Weekend!Released: Fri, July 6, 2012
The Prehistoric Indian Village will hold its annual Archeology Awareness Weekend on July 14 and 15, 2012. This is our most popular annual event and it just keeps getting better! Primitive technologists from around the country will be on hand to demonstrate flint knapping, hide tanning, pottery making and more. We've added something new this year, too: the Great Plains Zoo will be at the Village on Saturday, July 14th from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm with several species of indigenous animals! Admission to this great event is just $6 for adults, $5 for seniors adn $4 for children over 5 years old. Archeology Days is made possible with funding from the South Dakota Archaeological Society, the Archeology Lab of Augustana College, and the Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village.
